Abstract

A cosmetic preparation comprises a finely-divided highly polymeric polyester laden with a perfume. A suitable polyester is polyethylene isophthalate or terephthalate of 1-10m particle size. The perfume may be liquid or solid or a slurry. To enhance the properties of the cosmetic preparation various other additives may be admixed, e.g. TiO2, ZnO, MgO, kaolin, talc, metal soaps, e.g. zinc stearate and magnesium and zinc soaps, chalk, starch, MgCO3, iron oxide and organic lake pigments. The polyester may be obtained by precipitation by cooling from solution in a hot pyrrolidone. Mixing may be performed in a horizontal mixer with a screw agitator or a pebble mill.ALSO:A cosmetic preparation comprises a finely divided highly polymeric polyester laden with a perfume. Suitable polyesters are polyethylene terephthalate and isophthalate of 1-10m particle size. The perfume may be a liquid, a solid, or a slurry. Other additives which may be present include titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, magnesium oxide, magnesium carbonate, chalk, talc, kaolin, zinc and magnesium soaps, e.g. zinc stearate, starch, iron oxide pigment and organic talc pigments.
