Abstract

1,093,015. Contact printing apparatus. CHEMISCHE FABRIEK L. VAN DER GRINTEN N. V. July 19 , 1966 [July 23, 1965], No. 32318/66. Heading G2A. A contact printing apparatus comprises a rotatable glass cylinder 1 having an internal lamp 2, and a system of belts 4 which carry the original and copy sheets round the cylinder while the exposure is made. Let into the surface of the cylinder is a clamping device 11 (also having ejector pins 12) by means of which the leading edge of the original 0 may be attached to the cylinder. This is fed in between guide plates 13, 14 by a roller 17, which contacts the sheet simultaneously with the removal of a stop 16. Similarly the copy sheet K is fed in between guides 18, 19. The driving roller 8 for the belts 4 is geared to a roller 28 which drives the cylinder 1. The arrangement is such that the belts move faster than the cylinder, preferably by 0. 5 to 3%. It is stated that this prevents the original from being detached so readily from the clamping device when it is sent round again and again for repeated copies.
