Abstract

1,090,336. Respiratory pad. W. BUCHANAN. Jan. 18, 1966 [Jan. 26, 1965], No. 3467/65. Heading A5T. A respiratory pad which may be used in laryngectomy or tracheotomy is illustrated with reference to Figs. 1 and 2 and comprises a sheet of foamed plastics material 7 (e.g. foamed polystyrene) and a sheet of mesh fabric 8 (e.g. cotton mesh) superimposed one upon the other. Preferably the pad comprises a further sheet of mesh fabric 6 on the other side of the foamed plastics material. Other features disclosed are the use of a binding strip 9, of ties 5, and of a perforated waterproof sheet (e.g. of oiled silk) between sheets 6 and 7.
