Abstract
1,090,092. Boring machine details. GOSUDARSTVENNY NOVOSIBIRSKY ZAVOID TYAZHELIKH STANKOV I KRUPNIKH GIDROPRESSOV. Feb. 5, 1965, No. 5062/65. Heading B3C. A boring machine for producing tapered or profiled bores comprises a bed 1, Fig. 1, a slide 2, which carries a column 3 on which is mounted a head stock 4 having a boring head 5, and a base 11 for a non-rotating workpiece 12. A template 8 is mounted on bed 1 and co-operates with a follower 26 mounted on slide 2. Head 5 is rotated by an electric motor 13 through gears 14-17, and slide 2 is fed by an electric motor 19, gears 20-24, and a rack 25. The linear motion of follower 26 is transformed into an angular motion of a synchro transmitter 30 through gears 27-29. If the rotor of a synchrorepeater 31 does not rotate, the input voltage of a phase sensitive amplifier 32 changes by an electric angle equal to the geometric angle of the transmitter 30, and D.C. voltage is supplied through an amplifier 33 to motor 34. The latter rotates a screw 38 through gears 39-42, the screw being connected to synchrorepeater 31 through gears 36 and 37, and also to a nut 43, carried by a spindle 35, so that the latter is moved axially. A rack 44 connected to the spindle rotates a gear nut 49 through gears 46-48, and the toolholder is adjusted radially. This adjustment can also be made manually by bringing an auxiliary transmitter 57 into the system, which is operated by rotating a handle 56. In a modification the workpiece moves axially instead of the boring head. When a tapered bore is to be produced a template 50, Fig. 3, is provided whose angle α can be varied by an electric motor 51 which rotates a screw 54 to co-operate with a nut 55.
