Abstract

1,089,832. Crash barriers. H. ST. PIERRE. July 26, 1965, No. 31733/65. Heading E1G. The contiguous ends of the guard rails of a crash barrier are joined by a connecting plate through headed fasteners slidable in slots. The W-rails are bolted to wood or metal vertical post members of circular section held above ground level by curved supports embedded at their ends in the ground. A chain may be connected to the post members above the guard rail. On impact will extend due to the slotted butt joint and then the curved supports will rotate in the ground.
