Abstract

1,089,370. Road sweepers. SICARD Inc. Oct.8, 1965 [Feb. 1, 1965], No. 42794/65. Heading E1G. [Also in Division F1] The brush 17 of a road sweeping machine is suspended on a rigid frame .from the chassis 3 of the driving vehicle by parallel links articulatedto cross members 23. of the chassis to permit movement of the brush in a horizontal plane under the action of hydraulic rams 67. The height of the brush is regulated by castor wheel assemblies 13 connected by further parallelogram links 77 and a diagonal ram 81. The ram 81 has a hollow piston with which a manually adjustable nut is in lost-motion connection to provide constant ram stroke at adjustable positions to allow raising of the brush for transport and adjustment for wear. A blower assembly 15 has surface level outlets 131, adjustable for right or left hand blowing, for further clearance of snow.
