Abstract

Shaped articles are formed from a blank of resilient material, e.g. open celled polyurethane foam, by bending or deforming the blank to the required shape over a former, applying a coating of a denser resilient material, e.g. closed celled polyurethane foam, and finally setting the coating to retain the blank in its new shape. The coating material is preferably deposited, from a liquid state, as by spraying.
