Abstract
The invention comprises compounds of formula <FORM:1088326/C2/1> where R is a C1- 4 alkyl group, R1 is a trans-4-propyl-L-hygroyl group and R2 is a hydrogen atom or a C1- 4 alkyl group, and their preparation by reaction of lincomycin with a trialkyl orthoalkanoate in the presence of a strong mineral or organic acid. The compounds of the invention have anti-bacterial activity.
