Pocket, pen, and like knives. -The handle comprises a strip of spring steel which is doubled upon itself at 5 so that the side-plates 3, which are of channel section, tend to spring apart. When a portion 10 of one of the scales is turned into the position shown in Fig. 2, the enlarged head 9 of a rivet 7 slips into a recess 11 in the part 10 and allows the plates 3 to spring apart so that the blade 1 can be turned from its closed or open position. When the part 10 is in its normal position, the head 9 of the rivet engages a recess 12
