Abstract

1,088,235. Two-part couplings. OXLEY DEVELOPMENTS CO. Ltd. May 2, 1966 [May 14, 1965], No. 20390/65. Heading H2E. [Also in Division B3] A pin for an electric plug is made from a length of rod, preferably brass or phosphor bronze, and the end furthest from the flange is rounded, mutually perpendicular wedge-shaped slots being cut therein. The slots are subsequently extended by slits 20 to form four limbs. The flat surfaces of the slots are brought into contact, which operation simultaneously bows the limbs of the plug outwardly into a banana shape 26. A flange 16 prevents the pin from being screwed too far into a plug body and a bore in the threaded end provides a recess for soldering wire to the pin.
