Abstract

[Also in Division F1] A turbine blade has a tapered erosion resistant leading edge shield 12 secured along the upstream face of a body portion 10 by brazing or electron beam welding. The body portion 10 is of steel and the shield 12 is of an alloy containing cobalt and chromium.
