Abstract

1,086,014. Lifting-derricks. BERGENS MEKANISKE VERKSTEDER A.S. Feb. 28, 1966 [March 16, 1965], No. 8666/66. Heading B8B. A derrick comprising a king post 1 which supports a boom 2 pivoted at 3, 3a for luffing and slewing has two load hooks 4, 13 raised and lowered by winches 10, 20 and cables 5, 14 respectively. The hooks have abutment plates 11, 21 which engage members 12, 22 on the boom so that either hook may support and luff the boom whilst the other lifts the load. Heavier loads are raised by the hook 13. Pivoted struts 23 connect a top block 7 to the pivot 3.
