An extending table has two main leaves 14 slidable from an abutting position to an apart position where one or more of three sub-leaves 21 each comprising two parts hinged together can be swung into a position coplanar with the main leaves, the sub-leaves 21 being pivotally mounted in a frame of the table so as to lie side by side in the same plane below the main leaves when the table is closed.
