Abstract
1,084,366. Removing moulded articles. PENNSALT CHEMICALS CORPORATION. Nov. 4, 1964 [Nov. 6, 1963], No. 45001/64. Heading B5A. An injection or transfer moulding press 12, 14, Fig. 2, has a stripper comb assembly 34 which on actuation delivers the moulding parts to one receptacle and the sprue and runners to another receptacle. The stripper comb assembly comprises a comb unit 62, 64 and a tray 114 selectively movable to the space between the mould plates 12, 14 to receive respectively the sprue and runners 30, 32 and the mould parts 28 which have been separated and ejected from the mould cavities by air jets and jector pins. The tray 114 in returning to its initial position takes along the comb unit. A roller or rollers on the tray move along inclined tracks 118 so that the moulded parts are delivered to one receptacle and a scraper blade 90 knocks the sprue and runners off the comb unit into another receptacle.
