Abstract
1,083,870. Fluid-pressure servomotor systems. BELL AEROSPACE CORPORATION. Aug.15, 1966 [Aug. 20, 1965], No.36430/66. Heading G3P. A servo system comprises a jet pipe 22 controlling the flow to opposite ends of a piston 29 in response to an input signal to a torque motor 27. A feedback is provided by a coupling means 14 which comprises a first spring 41 having a low spring constant which is connected between a link 43 and a member 59 slidable in a fixed housing 52 and a second spring 51 having a high spring constant which is arranged between the member 59 and the housing 52. The movement of the member 59 in response to movement of the piston 29 is thus less than the movement of this piston due to the difference in the spring constants. The member 59 may be connected directly to the jet pipe 22 or through a spring 71. An adjustable spring 32 sets the wall position of the jet pipe. The coupling means may be arranged in a mechanical input to the control member of the system.
