Abstract

Basic slag is ground to a particle size less than 300 m , passed through at least one high intensity magnetic field separator and separated into at least two fractions, one having an increased phosphorus content and another having an increased iron content. Ferromagnetic material can be removed by prior passage through a low intensity magnetic field.
