Abstract
Glass beads are made from a stream of molten glass along which an electric current is passed and across which a magnetic field is maintained so as to cause oscillation of the stream and facilitate separation into beads. The current or the field alternates at 60 cycles per second or both are maintained unidirectional but at such strengths that the stream is deflected to break the current periodically. Preferably the current passes through an arc from an electrode adjacent to the stream.
