Abstract
1,081,655. Transformers and inductors. LICENTIA PATENT - VERWALTUNGSG.m.b.H. Oct. 19, 1964 [Oct. 18, 1963], No. 42496/64. Heading H1T. In a winding including pairs of disc coils, the disc coils 1 (Fig. 2) are insulated from one another by inner angle rings each having its flat annular portion 6 in contact with the turns of a disc coil and its cylindrical portion 7 long enough to overlap the edge of that disc coil and of at least one other coil. The flat annular portions of the angle rings may be tapered in the regions of lower electrical stress to save space. Outer angle rings may also be provided. The angle rings may be arranged with their cylindrical parts 7 (Fig. 7, not shown) overlapping and shielding ring (9), (9<SP>1</SP>) may be in two parts so that the cooling oil, after following its zig-zag path between the disc coils, may flow out between them (15). The oil channels may be omitted between some or all of the coils. A method of forming the angle rings and oil channel distance strips during winding of the disc coils is described.
