Abstract

1,080,674. Scrapers. SKARSTEN MANUFACTURING CO. Ltd., and A. R. SKARSTEN. July 18, 1966 [July 20, 1965], No. 30867/65. Heading B4B. A wallpaper removing device comprises a steel strip 11 one end portion 12 of which is bent and provided with teeth 14 to score a wallpaper surface and the other end portion 15 of which is provided with a stripping blade 16 chamfered on its upper edge. The strip is secured to a handle 10 by means of a screw 19 which has screw-threaded engagement with a boss 20, the strip being located in the direction of the handle by means of two holes in the strip which are engageable with a stud projecting from a metal plate 23, the arrangement being such that by rotating the boss 20 to slacken the screw 19, the strip can be rotated from the position shown to a position in which the teeth 14 are in the operative position. The teeth 14 are set at a pitch of three sixteenths of an inch.
