Abstract

A composition which is curable to an elastomer at room temperature comprises: (A) 100 parts by wt. of a silanol terminated diorganopolysiloxane consisting essentially of units R2SiO and (B) 0.1 to 100 parts by wt. of (i) a diaminoxy organosilicon compound having 2 radicals -OY and the structural unit =Si(R11)OY and (ii) from 0.1 to 50% by wt. of (i) a polyaminoxy organosilicon compound having at least three -OY radicals and the structural unit ­SiOY. R is a monovalent hydrocarbon radical or a halogenated derivative or a cyanoalkyl radical; Y is either NR2 or a heterocyclic amine attached to silicon by an Si-O-N linkage; R1 is a monovalent hydrocarbon radical. R11 is either the same as R1, arkoxy or R3SiO 1/2 . The remaining Si valencies of (a) and (b) are satisfied by OY radicals, O, divalent hydrocarbon radicals, R11 radicals or mixtures thereof. The diorganopolysiloxane (A) may have a viscosity of 100-100,000 centipoises at 25 DEG C. The difunctional nitrogen-silicon material may have the formula (R11)2Si(OY)2 and the polyfunctiona compound the formula (R11)bSi(OY)4- b where Y, R11 and R1 are as defined above and b=0 or 1. The difunctional aminoxy silane may have the formula (XXV) (CH3)2Si[ON(CH2CH3)2]2 and the trifunctional compound the formula <FORM:1077808/C3/1> The difunctional material may be a cyclopolysiloxane composed of two units: <FORM:1077808/C3/2> chemically combined with two amylmethylsiloxy units and the trifunctional compound may have the formula <FORM:1077808/C3/3> A metal salt catalyst, e.g. dibutyl tin dilaurate, may be included in the composition. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to the Specification 999,123.
