Abstract

1,076,289. Cleaning windows. F. W. R. VON DEN BAUMEN [trading as ROLEO]. Nov. 5, 1965 [Nov. 6, 1964], No. 47128/65. Heading A4F. A device for cleaning both sides of a window pane simultaneously comprises two parts magnetically attracted together through the pane 7 to be cleaned and each provided with spring supported cleaning sponges 13 and/or wipers 12 mounted on body members 3, 4 of plastics material and with projections, wheels, balls or the like 11 which reduce frictional resistance to movement of the parts over the pane 7. A yoke 10 of magnetizable material or a magnetic member having at least two poles is mounted on one part which may be provided with a safety chain fixture 6 whereas a magnetic member having at least two poles is mounted on the other part which may be provided with a handle 5. The sponges may be of synthetic plastics or may be natural sponges and the wiper 12 may be of natural or synthetic rubber or of plastics material.
