Abstract

1,075,540. Feeding webs. HASSIA VERPACKUNGSMASCHINEN G.m.b.H. Nov. 9, 1964 [Nov. 9, 1963], No. 45504/64. Heading B6B. In a packaging machine, a plastics web is fed forward by a reciprocating gripper device 7, driven by a crank mechanism 11 having a spring-loaded, telescoping connecting rod 13. The amplitude of the feed is limited by stops 29 and 10 on one of a pair of parallel guide rails for the gripper 7. This pre-set amplitude is greater than the required increment of feed of the web 1. A photo-electric device 18 is provided to operate a catch 20 which reduces the length of the feed increment every time a registration mark is detected by the photoelectric device 18.
