Abstract

1,075,445. Control of D.C. motors; transmitting mechanical power. BRITISH CRANE & EXCAVATOR CORPORATION Ltd. Oct. 27, 1964 [Nov. 2, 1963], No. 43350/63. Addition to 904,764. Headings H2H and H2J. The control system described in Specification 904,764 is modified by the provision of potentiometer 33 which is adjusted by member 34 on remote control unit (21) a further potentiometer 30 being driven by reversible actuator motor (4). The potentiometers are connected to differential amplifier 32 for energizing one or other of the contactors 5, 6, for the motor (4) when the potentiometers are unbalanced. The throttle for prime mover (20) is thus driven to the position called for by the setting of the member 34. Limit switches 18 are associated with actuator motor. The member 34 is spring- loaded to the engine-idling position to which the system is returned if the wiring is damaged.
