Abstract
1,075,334. Ventilators. W. TOPP. Aug. 26, 1964 [June 27, 1964], No. 34941/64. Headings F4J and F4V. A ventilator comprises a tube on one end of which is a detachable cowl having nozzle openings extending along lines parallel to the longitudinal axis of the tube or perpendicular thereto. As shown in Fig. 1, nozzles 13, 15 are grouped in concentric circles about a central nozzle 14 and the upper ends of all the nozzles lie in a single horizontal plane. A detachable flanged ring 5 for securing the ventilator to a roof or wall is surrounded by a cover 16 enclosing a plastic sealing compound 18. The ventilator may be made of a flexible plastics material such as polyethylene or polyvinyl chloride. Extension tubes (not shown) may be interposed between tube 1 and the cowl. An alternative cowl is described with reference to Fig. 3 (not shown) and comprises a domed cap (20) surmounting a conical pipe (12<SP>1</SP>) and overhanging to provide an annular space around the upper end of the pipe (12<SP>1</SP>). Nozzle openings (13) extend radially outwards from the wall of pipe (12<SP>1</SP>) opening into the annular space.
