Abstract

1,072,800. Swimming pools. TWELLOSE INDUSTRIE PLASTICS N.V. Dec. 1, 1965 [Oct. 18, 1965], No. 51097/65. Heading A4N. An above-ground swimming pool is constructed of synthetic resin wall panels each having several vertical strengthening ribs 6. The ribs preferably have a core 7 of foamed synthetic resin and an external sheath of glass fibre reinforced polyester resin which is integral with the flat part of the panel, made of the same material. The panels have outwardly turned connecting flanges at their sides (12) and bases (5). They are anchored to a preformed concrete pool base 1 or in channels in precast concrete blocks (14) (when the base of the pool is constructed of synthetic resin sheets) by pouring additional concrete 10 to form a footing. Stainless steel supporting struts (16) are provided for panels anchored in flat precast blocks (14) (Figs. 4 and 5, not shown). Water sealing means 9, 9a are provided.
