Abstract

1,070,001. Propelling mine cars. SHAW TREW & SMITH Ltd., and D. G. SHAW. Jan. 10, 1964 [Oct. 11, 1962], No. 38495/62. Heading B7L. A mechanical creeper 1 having undulating parts 2 for engaging the live or dummy axles 5 of mine cars or other rail vehicles, is raised to its operative position by a platform 6 which is movable to adjust the length of the operative run of the creeper. The platform comprises jointed plates 12 connected together at each side by a support chain 9 passing around drive sprockets, the rollers 10 of chains 9 being supported on the same fixed platform 7 as the inoperative part of creeper 1. The free end of platform 6 may be provided with a roller 14 to facilitate the movement of the platform under the creeper.
