Abstract
1,068,103. Moulding hollow concrete panels. L. B. GABURRI. April 26, 1965 [April 28, 1964], No. 17458/65. Heading B5A. [Also in Division E1] Hollow concrete floor or wall panels are moulded in an open metal lined mould comprising a base-plate 1 to which is pivotally attached, via hinges (14, 15, 16 and 17) (Fig. 2, not shown) a pair of mould side walls 3, 3<SP>1</SP>, provided with longitudinal extending reliefs 5 and recesses 6 to form an open ended joint between adjoining floor panels (Fig. 4, not shown), and a pair of end walls which are each formed in two parts (10, 10<SP>1</SP>) (Fig. 3, not shown), the lower part (10) being hinged to the base-plate (at 12, 13) and the upper part (10<SP>1</SP>) being engageable therewith, upon slides (11, 11<SP>1</SP>), to define ports (24) for receiving collapsable mould cores 8. Notches (23) in the end walls (10<SP>1</SP>) support panel reinforcements and the side walls 3, 3<SP>1</SP> are locked in position by transverse members 7. Assembly of the mould is facilitated by locating the wall hinge pintles in a single horizontal plane for engagement with the hinge loops as these are moved along guides (19) (Fig. 3, not shown). For forming wall panels the walls 3, 3<SP>1</SP> are replaced by walls (3<SP>11</SP>, 3<SP>111</SP>) (Fig. 5, not shown), forming a waterproof cavity type mortar joint (Fig. 6, not shown) between adjacent panels through which passes a reinforcing stirrup 25. Raised edges 18, 18<SP>1</SP> on a mould base-plate 2 provide surface grooves -between adjacent panels. The length of the mould is also adjustable by making one of the end walls slidable upon cores 8. The upper surfaces of the panels may be finished smooth, or in grit, mosaic or colour. The hollow panels may also be filled with insulating materials.
