Abstract

1,067,729. Microscopes. CARL ZEISS JENA, VEB. Sept.4, 1964, No. 36354/64. Heading G2J. A microscope having a phase-contrast and a polarization device is provided with means for independently controlling the illumination for phase-contrast examination and for examination in polarized light, the beams emitted from the two sources 3, 5 being combined by a halfsilvered mirror 2 below a condenser 1, and an annular diaphragm 8 between the phase-contrast source 3 and the mirror 2 being imaged by an intermediate optical system 9 in the entrance pupil of the condenser 1. A phase ring 11 and an analyzer 13 are positioned between the microscope objective 10 and eyepiece 14.
