Abstract

1,067,664. Moulding coloured coding on dielectric bodies. PLESSEY-U.K. Ltd. March 4, 1964 [April 4, 1963], No. 13439/63. Heading B5A. A dielectric body (1) having distinctive coding (3) is moulded of two similar dielectric compositions of distinct colour, one of these compositions being first wiped into recesses, representing coding indications, provided in a mould so as to fill the recesses only, the remainder of the mould being then filled with the other composition. In the example an insulating bung is formed with a number of through holes (2) each identified by a coding element (3). A mould having letters engraved in its end faces is employed, the engraved portions being first filled with white-coloured silicone rubber by means of a flexible knife or a disposable dispenser e.g. a collapsible tube. Partial curing is effected and the mould then assembled and filled with red silicone rubber by injection.
