Abstract
Novel compounds of the formula <FORM:1066919/C2/1> (wherein R1 is phenyl or C1- 7 alkyl; R2 is benzyl, C1- 7 alkyl or (C1- 7 alkyl)-substituted benzyl; and R3, R4, and R5 are optional C1- 7 alkyl or C1- 7 alkoxy groups, with the provisos that (a) at least one of R1 and R2 is present and is other than C1- 7 alkyl; and (b) at least one of R3, R4 and R5 is present as in the 3-position) and acid-addition salts thereof, are prepared by reduction of the imine formed from the appropriate aldehyde or ketone and ammonia or the appropriate amine. This may be a one or two stage process.
