Abstract
Dyes of the formula <FORM:1066477/C4-C5/1> in which R1 represents an alkyl group of 1-6 C, R2 represents an alkyl group of 3-7 C, R3 and R4 each represents an optionally substituted alkyl or aryl group, e.g. acetoxy ethyl, and R5 and R6 each represents hydrogen, halogen, e.g. Cl or CN, are prepared by reacting compounds of formula <FORM:1066477/C4-C5/2> <FORM:1066477/C4-C5/3> wherein A is an anilino or acetanilido group, B is a phenylimino group and X is an acid radical with an appropriate 1,3-dialkyl-2-thiohydantoin.ALSO:1 - Ethyl - 3 - n - propyl - 2 - thiohydantoin is prepared by reacting ethylamino acetamide hydrochloride or ethylamine acetonitrile with n-propylisothiocyanate. 1 - Ethyl - 3 - n - butyl-2-thiohydantoin is prepared similarly.
