Abstract
1,066,247. Percussive tools. ZAKLADY SPRZETU BUDOWLANEGO NR. 2. Oct. 28, 1963. No. 42341/63. Heading B4C. A vibratory-hammer for driving members 9, such as piles, has a vertical and rotary action and comprises two shafts 3, 4 mounted on a support housing 8, and provided with gears 12, 13 and discs 14, 15, the gears and discs being fitted with weights 1 so that, upon rotation of the shafts in opposite directions, they exert a vibratory turning moment on the support housing thereby rotating it and at the same time, causing a percussive member 16 to strike an anvil portion of the housing. The percussive member 16 is connected to the housing 8 by means of springs 18 and nuts 20 are provided in order to adjust a clearance 19 between the permissive member and an anvil portion formed on the housing 8. As shown, the weights 1 are secured to the gear 12 and disc 15 so that when the shaft 3 is rotated by means of an electric motor or internal combustion engine via a flexible drive, the weights cause the housing to vibrate vertically and also rotate, these motions being transmitted to the member 9 connected to the housing. The weights may alternatively be fitted to the gear 13 and disc 14.
