Abstract

In a method of producing shoes by moulding a sole or heel on to the bottom of a shoe upper located over a mould cavity 8, liquid or paste substances, which react to form a high molecular weight cross-linked polyurethane polymer, are introduced into the cavity via an inlet 2. The upper 5 is supported on a last 4 with an insole 6 and the mould has an air vent 3. The substances used may be mixtures of di-or polyiscyanate and di-or polyhydroxy compounds containing, if desired, extending or expanding agents and/or cross-linking catalysts.
