Abstract

1,063,963. Agitating-appaartus. U.S. STONEWARE Inc. April 22, 1964 [April 23, 1963], No. 16745/64. Heading B1C. Apparatus for agitating a drum 40 comprises driven eccentric rollers 50, 51 arranged 180‹ out of phase and idler rollers (52), (53) (Fig. 6 not shown), and has a downwardly and rearwardly curved front formed by rockers 10 which rest on the floor during operation but which can be lifted up by extending wheels 38 by means of a toggle comprising plates 32, 35 and operated by rotating a handwheel 23. Further wheels 41 are provided so that, with wheels 38 extended, the apparatus may be easily moved. For loading or removing a drum the apparatus is upended so that it rests on its front (Fig. 4 not shown). Leverage for assisting upending is provided by inserting through aligned collars 70 a rod which projects rearwardly from the apparatus. A thrust shoe 60 having a flange 62 engages the rim of the drum for holding the drum if it tends to tilt away when the apparatus is upended.
