Abstract

1,062,633. Pipe mountings. WILMOTBREEDEN Ltd. March 6, 1964 [March 7, 1963], No. 9058/63. Heading F2P. A mounting for a pipe or pipe-fitting comprises two parts (1) (Fig. 1, not shown) and 2 moulded from a synthetic plastics material wherein one part (1) comprises a generally saddle-shaped mounting bracket formed for fixing to a wall or other mounting surface and having opposed resilient limbs (6) formed with apertures or internal recesses (7) and a complementary mounting part 2 moulded with opposed projecting ears or lugs 12 which on fitting the two parts together snap into said apertures or recesses to provide a firm mounting. The complementary part 2 may be in the form of a ring 16 having the lugs on an enlarged extension 17 of the ring. The ring is intended to surround a pipe and has spaced webs 18 on its inner surface which collapse as the ring is closed around the pipe to ensure a firm grip. The complementary part 2 may be moulded integrally with a rainwater pipe connector or with a pipe fitting known as a " shoe " (Figs. 2, 4, not shown). The sides of the two parts (1), 2 are preferably tapered and a slot (15) in the bracket (1) is adapted to be engaged with a screwdriver to open the bracket to allow the pipe to be removed.
