Abstract

1,062,690. Door operating mechanisms. STAL-LAVAL APPARAT A.B. Sept. 20, 1965 [Oct. 9, 1964], No. 40008/65. Heading E2M. Hydraulic or pneumatic rams 7, 9 are arranged to raise vertically by the same amount a cover 2 and hinge pin 4 from a vessel 1 in order to protect an 'O'-ring seal (not shown) between the vessel and cover. The cover is then swung by the ram 7 to the open position shown in dotted lines. The vertical movement of the hinge member 4 is limited by guides 5 in which the member slides. The cover is swung and lowered to close the vessel by a reverse operation, and there may be two rams 7 and two rams 9.
