A clamp comprises a piston 4 moved axially to move a second piston 2 through an interposed elastic container 3 filled with a liquid 9. The piston 4 is operated by compressed air through a connection 11. The container 3 is formed with a nose portion engaged by a nut 10 to secure it to the piston 2.
