Abstract

A support of metal or paper or a metal plate laminated to paper is coated with a layer of a vinylidene chloride polymer or copolymer and zinc chloride and/or zinc oxide which aid(s) the decomposition of the polymer. Preferred polymers are polyvinylidene chloride, vinylidene chloride/acrylonitrile and vinylidene chloride/styrene copolymers. Other zinc halides and iron or copper bases may also be added to the polymeric layer. Preferred supports are a zinc plate or carbon impregnated paper.
