Abstract

1,060,642. Dish washer. TELEFOX ELETTRODOMESTICI S.p.A. Aug. 30, 1963 [Sept. 1, 1962], No. 34438/63. Heading A4F. A dish-washing machine, more particularly for cleaning cooking utensils comprises an outer chamber 1, inside which a stainless steel basin 2, having a trough 10, is clamped. The basin carries a drumbasket 3 in which may be placed crockery items e.g. plates 4. Utensils in which food has been prepared are carried above the trough on a frame 5 by hooks (5a), (5b). Flexible tubes 20, of e.g. rubber, which carry on their free ends abrasive discs 22 having radial projections (see Figs. 7 and 8, not shown), are connected to water supply tubes 12 or 13 as in Fig. 1, which tubes are in turn connected via a pump 11 to the trough 10. In operation, hot water is introduced into the trough and pumped by pump 11, through pipes 12 and 13 to the tubes 20 which rise from the inoperative position, in which they hang freely, to the operative position shown in Fig. 1. The reaction of the water as it issues through the free end of the tubes causes the abrasive head of the tubes to adopt a random flailing motion thus mechanically scouring both the inside and outside of the pots as in Fig. 1. The water from the tubes also aids in the cleaning of the pots and then passes down into the trough 10 over the plates etc. 4, when it is discharged by pump 24. The above step is repeated with fresh water until the water issuing from pump 24 is clean.
