1,060,378. Mixing solids and liquids. E. F. PANTLAND. June 4, 1964 [June 6, 1963; Aug. 13, 1963; April 29, 1964], No. 23282/64. Heading B1C. Apparatus for the controlled dosing of water with sodium hyprochlorite comprises a container 10 having a support 12 for the granular or tabletted dosant; water is admitted through the conduit 13, washes the dosant as it passes over the support, and passes over the edge of the support or through perforations therein (see Fig. 4, not shown) and so out through a conduit 18 in the base of the container. The annular space between the support and the container, and the perforations in the support are of size to retain the smallest solid particles that may be present. There may be a float as at 17 which closes the outlet 18 until the liquid reaches a pre-determined level in the chamber, to prevent air from the chamber entering the outlet pipe.
