An apparatus for testing a series of dimensions of an article as described in Specification 1, 049, 760 in which the bridge 14 floats on springs 16, 16' and the meter is a mechanical dial gauge. Mounting blocks 17, 17' are attached to the upper ends of the springs 16, 16' to support a bridging piece 18. The springs 16, 16' provide a tolerance for any eccentricity in the rotation of the disc 1.
