Abstract

1,059,031. Conveyer systems. TELEFLEX PRODUCTS Ltd. July 24, 1963 {July 24, 1962 (2); Feb. 1, 1963], Nos. 28412/62, 27518/63 and 27519/63. Heading B7L. [Also in Division B8] In a chain conveyer of the kind in which alternate links 31, 32 carry respectively support rollers and guide rollers 8, the links each consist of a pair of parallel arms joined at their ends, there are two rollers to each link, the plane of each roller is perpendicular to the plane containing the longitudinal axes of the link arms, the rollers are mounted midway of their respective links and the links provided with the support rollers carry load-bearing or loadengaging members which are preferably suspended from the roller axles. The chain runs in a guideway with a slot from which the load-bearing or engaging member projects: Fig. 1 of the Complete Specification, and Figs. 2 and 4 of cognate Provisional Specification 27519/63 (not shown) depict crosssectional views of suitable guideways. The chain is driven by a six-toothed sprocket whose teeth 156 engage the appropriately bushed guide roller axles. To make this possible the guideway has to be cut away at the drive point and to prevent the support rollers falling through the cut-away portion the sprocket is provided with platforms 157 which temporarily support the support rollers. The load-engaging means carried by the support roller axles may be dogs for pushing trolleys along a track. Such trolleys (Fig. 1 of cognate Provisional Specification 27519/63, not shown) have pivoted pawls (50) which are counterweighted (at 48) arranged in facing pairs between which the dogs (33) can engage.
