Abstract

1,058,476. Magnetrons. ELECTROLUX A.B. June 18, 1964 [July 12, 1963], No. 25250/64. Heading H1D. The multicavity magnetron 13 of a microwave oven has a pair of permanent magnets 19 supported by yokes 20 from the anode block and the yokes are cooled by directing part of the stream of cooling air, drawn from the outside of the oven by a fan 17, over the yokes. The air stream is directed on to the anode body through a pipe 23, but the edges of the stream are deflected to the yokes by shaped, outwardly channelled, pairs of plates 27, 28. Instead of using a closed space separated from the oven space 11, sheet metal pipes extending over the yokes and down to the deflector plates may be used.
