[Also in Division E2] A luggage case consists of two shells S, S<SP>1</SP>; a beam B extending around one shell and having spaced recesses .in which latches L, L<SP>1</SP> are mounted; a frame F around the other shell interfitting with the beam B and both the beam B and the frame F having grooves in their outer edges for the edges of the shells S, S<SP>1</SP> respectively, the edges being attached by self-tapping pins 77 (Fig. 8, not shown). The case is provided with a handle 10, catch means mounted on the frame F for engaging the latches L, L<SP>1</SP> and hinges H (Fig. 1, not shown) .at the rear of the case. In one form, Fig. 3 (not shown), a shell S<SP>1</SP> has curved walls, a peripheral rim 16 with a groove 17 in the outer surface of the top wall 15 extending round the inner edge of the rim. In a second form a shell S, Fig. 4 (not shown), has all walls curved except the bottom wall 24 which is connected by an inclined rim 25 to the lower edges of the other walls, there being a downward projection 27 at each corner connected to the bottom 24 by a sloping portion 26 and also to the rim 25.
