Abstract

1,056,064. Scissors and hand shears. W. WHITELEY. Sept. 5, 1963 [July 5, 1962], No. 25804/62. Heading B4B. [Also in Divisions E2 and F2] The blades 10, 12 of scissors, shears &c. are connected together by a pivot-pin, the blade 10 being freely pivotable on the pin and the blade 12 being non-rotatably secured on the pin by means of a key 28 passing diametrically through the end of the pin and engaging arcuate slots 32 in the blade 12, the-key being retained in adjusted position by means of a screw 34 engaging a screw-threaded hole in the key or in the pin. The head 36 of the screw is accommodated in a recess 38 in the head 16 of the pin and the head 16 is accommodated, with -the interposition of a spring washer 26, in a recess 18 in the blade 10. The head 16 may be concealed from view by means of a metal disc 40.
