Abstract
1,055,472. Electric cells. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. July 5, 1963 [July 10, 1962], No. 26752/63. Heading H1B. A primary cell (specifically C/Zn) has an aqueous solution of a depolarizer and a further salt having the same anion as the depolarizer and if necessary a catalyst, the depolarizer being separated from the body of the electrolyte solution by a diaphragm of an organic macromolecular compound containing anion groups chemically bonded to the molecule (e.g. cationexchangers). The depolarizer is preferably potassium persulphate.
