Abstract
1,053,815. Herbicidal compositions. SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ N.V. Sept. 28, 1964 [Sept. 30, 1963], No. 39450/64. Heading ASE. [Also in Division C2] A herbicidal composition comprises an alkyl mono-nitroaryl sulphone having the general formula: wherein R represents an alkyl group, Ar represents an aryl group or an aryl group additionally substituted with at least one halogen atom, cyano group or alkyl group, together with a solid carrier with or without a surface-active agent or a liquid carrier with a surface-active agent or a compressed gas carrier. The composition may be in the form of a solution, suspension, emulsion, dust, granules or a wettable powder. The composition may additionally contain other insecticides, e.g. DDT, endrin, dieldrin, aldrin, chlordane, "Systox" (Registered Trade Mark). D.D.V.P., "Dibrom", "Ciodrin" (Registered Trade Mark), "Bidrin" (Registered Trade Mark), rotenone and pyrethrum, fungicides, e.g. copper compounds, ferbam and captan, or plant growth regulants, e.g. napthalene acetic acid and 2,4-D.
