Abstract

1,053,764. Strap fastenings. WILSON & GARDEN Ltd. April 2, 1964 [April 4, 1963], No. 13312/63. Heading E2A. The opposed ends of a flexible black board 10 are connected by a hollow bar 1 of trapezoidal cross-section having a longitudinal slot 4 and inwardly directed plates 6 defining channels 7 within which rigid blades 15 attached to the board ends are located. The bar 1 may be formed by an extruded flat sheet followed by bending, or alternatively three separate parts may be welded together at side flanges 8. Removable plug pieces 12 may be inserted into the ends of the bar 1 to prevent unintentional movement of the bar 1 relative to the rigid blades 15, each plug comprising a shank portion 13 and end plate 14. The blackboard may comprise an endless band which passes over top and bottom rollers carried by a frame, and the bar 1 may act as a handgrip, the sides preferably being embossed.
