Abstract

1,052,760. Bowden mechanisms. WILLIAM NEWMAN & SONS Ltd. Dec. 11, 1964 [Dec. 19, 1963], No. 50277/63. Heading F2K. A hinged ventilator or window panel 1 is operated by a flexible cable 3 linearly movable in a curved thrust tube 8 freely hinged at both ends 16, 20 parallel to the hinge axis of the panel 1 on the panel frame 14. The tube 8 has a forked end 15 pivoted to bracket lugs 17 and the other end pivots in a fixed bearing 20 which also firmly holds an outer thrust tube 12 leading to a handoperated rack and pinion gear for the flexible cable 3. The cable 3 is pivoted to the panel 1 by a cross bolt 24 held in downwardly facing U- shaped lugs of a bracket 6 by a spring clip 31 held over the lugs by projections 33 as in Specification 1,014,377.
