[Also in Division C2] The control of weeds, particularly in a wheat or cotton crop, is effected by applying a compound of formula wherein R is H or C 1-4 alkyl, R' is H or C 1-5 alkyl, n is 1 or 2, R<SP>2</SP> is (n=1) C 1-18 alkyl, or alkenyl, alkinyl, aryl, aralkyl or aminoalkyl, or (n=2) C 1-18 alkylene or alkenylene, alkinylene, arylene, aralkylene or aminoalkylene, and R<SP>1</SP>R<SP>2</SP> may denote C 2 -alkylene. Tests are carried out with the compounds in which n=1, R= R<SP>1</SP>=H and R<SP>2</SP>=Me or Bu.
